这些小葵花凤头鹦鹉光是一只就能卖到650英镑 (约台币3万元) 的价格，于是总会有不肖之徒为了赚钱铤而走险…据说每年在印尼约有超过一万只的鸟类被非法捕捉并走私，其中也不乏珍贵的保育类，而其中也会有约4成的鸟类不堪长途运送过程而死亡…

印尼警方努力救出了约24只焉焉一息的小葵花凤头鹦鹉，目前则进一步接受医疗照顾。
