For the past year and a half Jake Reissig has had the same daily routine. Every morning the 86-year-old man goes to mass, then meets one of his 9 children out for coffee. Afterwards Jake walks home, clips a rose from his front yard, walks to his wife's grave, waters the grass and places the rose near her tombstone. "She's always kept herself pretty, and I intend to keep it that way."

After the death of his wife, Elizabeth, Jake began doing this twice a day in order to keep the grass, he installed himself, green.

One day during his routine, Jake noticed mourners crying at a nearby grave. Once they left, he walked over and noticed that the grave belonged to a fallen soldier named Joseph Villasenor. Jake decided to honor the serviceman and his family by watering Joseph's grave along with his wife's.

於是傑克決定除了幫妻子的墳澆水，也要用同樣的方法來榮耀這位軍人。

Joseph's parents first thought the green grass at their son's grave was a miracle, but they later learned of and met the kind man who was taking care of Joseph's burial ground. When Villasenor's parents visited his grave and spotted Reissig standing there, they immediately hugged him.

Jake's dedication to Joseph's plot was so incredibly selfless and warm that we can only hope it will inspire others to take action to help others, especially those going through trying times like the Villasenors.
