根据英国《每日邮报》，西班牙动物救护中心(Santuario Compasion Animal rescue centre)中有一只眼睛残缺、鼻子塌陷佳的小猫咪「罗密欧(Romeo)」，和他一同出生的兄弟姊妹都被领养到新家去享福，却只有他乏人问津，仍孤单留在原地。

救护中心的工作人员萝拉(Laura Llacer)得知后，决定自己收编，将罗密欧带回家照顾，她希望借由罗密欧的故事让世界上的偏见与歧视停止发生。

她说，「罗密欧整天都在玩耍，并试图让志工们注意到他。罗密欧是一只没有人爱的猫咪，因为大家都认为他长得丑，现在他的故事被分享后，世界各地的人都写信来想认养他。」
