在美国加州一间高安乐死率的动物收容所，一只比特犬正哀伤地哭泣，就算有人来了他也不像其他狗一样热情地摇尾巴，看到零食也只是闻一闻却不吃，只是边流泪边看着栏杆外面。
他的名字是布鲁国王 (Blue King)，简称布鲁。原本他跟一家人生活在一起近1年，但那家人要搬家时决定不要带着布鲁一起，就在上个月将他送到Carson收容所。
他们拍下布鲁的短片并上传脸书，希望有人能领养布鲁。幸运的是珍妮佛 (Jennifer McKay) 一看到这段令人心碎的影片后，立刻就决定要去看布鲁。

珍妮佛一开始去看布鲁的时候，布鲁还是非常哀伤。她说：「他甚至完全不肯承认我。其他狗都看着我并摇尾巴，可是他不肯站起来，也不肯过来看我。很令人难过。」
珍妮佛也感觉到布鲁还在等他不会回来的主人。「每一次有人来的时候你都能看出来，那就好像他还在找他们似的。就好像他知道他被丢在这里了。」
珍妮佛决定要领养布鲁，不过因为收容所还必须帮布鲁做一些检查，所以她没办法马上把布鲁接回家。在等待检查结果的期间，珍妮佛又再次去看布鲁，这次带给他一个骨头跟全新的狗床。
幸好当珍妮佛三顾茅庐时，布鲁也终于被打动了，「他直接走向我！」
距离初次见面一周后，珍妮佛终于可以接布鲁回家。没想到一踏出铁笼，布鲁的态度立刻180度大转变！珍妮佛开玩笑说：「他骗了我。我还以为我领养了一只冷静放松的狗，但他一踏出狗笼就立刻超亢奋。他也很享受坐车，一直想把头探出窗外。」
到家后珍妮佛帮布鲁洗了个澡，然后带他出门散步。回家后布鲁就立刻在客厅沙发上睡着了！
珍妮佛说：「他看起来马上就把这里当作家了。他在沙发上有自己的位子。」
除了睡觉外，布鲁也很喜欢被揉肚肚、蹭人还有照镜子。珍妮佛说：「他超热衷看着镜中的自己。我们有一个跟他差不多高的梳妆台，他会坐在那里看着自己笑并摇尾巴。」
虽然布鲁还需要学一些礼仪还有怎么系狗绳散步，但珍妮佛很有自信这只曾经伤心流泪的狗很快就会没问题了！
珍妮佛说：「他看起来就是单纯地开心。我昨天下班回家时他直接奔向我。他是只很棒的狗，我超兴奋他会成为我们家中的一份子。」
布鲁幸运地找到了家，不过还有很多像布鲁一样被抛弃的狗狗在等待主人，他们也跟宠物店的狗一样可爱，甚至可能更贴心亲人！所以如果你想找个毛小孩陪伴，可以考虑用领养代替购买喔！
